Publication Terms

BRAMS is an academic journal published by the BRAMS Institute in Tbilisi, Georgia. It is a peer-reviewed international quarterly that welcomes innovative research papers, ideally embracing an interdisciplinary approach across various fields, including social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, formal sciences, and applied sciences. The journal releases issues quarterly, with both online (eISSN 2960-9348) and print (ISSN 2667-9299) versions available in PDF format on the BRAMS Institute website.

BRAMS has an open call for submissions. Authors may submit manuscripts in Georgian or English at any time throughout the year, with no strict deadlines or specific compositional requirements, provided the article demonstrates thorough research qualities. Submissions must be unpublished and not under consideration by other publications.

When submitting an article, authors must ensure that the manuscript adheres to the guidelines on the publisher’s website. There is no submission fee; however, authors are required to pay the article processing charge (APC) upon acceptance of a manuscript. According to BRAMS' refund policy, refunds for the APC are not available if the author withdraws after payment has been made. Authors may request an invoice, which will be emailed as a signed document.

BRAMS follows the Gold Open Access model, generating revenue primarily from author fees. The journal's operations are funded by fees from authors, their institutions, or funding agencies. We provide immediate open access to all articles at https://brams.ge, allowing users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full texts for any lawful purpose. The online versions are freely accessible and downloadable. Please ensure citations, including the URL, when referencing any part of the journal or content from the BRAMS website.

Peer Review Process

BRAMS employs a double-blind peer review system, ensuring that reviewers are unaware of authors' identities, and vice versa. This method promotes fairness and minimises bias.

All submissions undergo an initial evaluation to assess their relevance, formatting requirements, and compliance with originality and ethical standards using tools such as Turnitin or iThenticate. If a manuscript passes this check, it is sent to two qualified experts in the field and one PhD holder from a different discipline for additional insight. Reviewers evaluate the originality of the work, the robustness of the methods, the clarity and organisation of the paper, its alignment with the journal's goals, and the relevance and completeness of references. Manuscripts may be accepted as submitted, accepted with minor changes, accepted with major changes, or rejected. Authors receive a decision email along with reviewer feedback. If revisions are necessary, authors must either agree to resubmit the revised paper or withdraw their publication request. In cases requiring substantial revisions, revised papers will be returned to the reviewers for final assessment.

All authors whose manuscripts have undergone peer review must revise their papers according to the comments provided by the reviewers and editors. Once a manuscript is accepted, an email notification will be sent to the author(s). After payment of the manuscript preparation fee, two subeditors will edit and proofread the text before it is sent to the technical editor. Following these stages, the article will be published in its initial online edition, and the author(s) will be notified. Once the issue is finalised, all articles will be published in their final form, and authors will receive an email notification.

Authors wishing to receive a print edition of the journal must prepay the publication fee and delivery costs, as confirmed by the editorial office. An invoice for these services will be issued. Once payment is made, the issue will be sent to the press for printing and dispatched via courier or postal service. Each author may request up to five copies of a single issue.

Responsibilities of Authors and Reviewers

Authors must ensure their work is original and not under consideration elsewhere. They should properly cite all sources and ensure compliance with ethical standards in any research involving human or animal subjects. Additionally, authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and actively collaborate with editors and reviewers to improve their papers.

Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, honest, and unbiased feedback while maintaining confidentiality. They must disclose any conflicts of interest and refrain from using ideas or text from the manuscript for personal gain.

The Editor-in-Chief and editorial board oversee the peer review process, make final decisions based on reviewer input, handle submissions fairly, and avoid involvement with papers where they have a conflict of interest. All manuscripts and review discussions are confidential, and we adhere to international data protection and privacy regulations. All parties involved—authors, reviewers, and editors—must declare any potential conflicts of interest, as undisclosed conflicts may lead to the rejection or retraction of a paper.

If authors disagree with a decision regarding their manuscript, they may submit a formal appeal, including a clear and detailed explanation of their reasons. A senior editor, who was not involved in the original decision, will review the appeal impartially. Complaints concerning ethics or misconduct will be addressed in accordance with COPE guidelines. For further inquiries regarding publication, authors are encouraged to visit the Submission web page before contacting us.
