Aim & Scope

BRAMS is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to researchers, scholars, and practitioners engaged in advancing interdisciplinary knowledge.
Submissions must address at least one of the following fields: American Studies, British Studies, or Kartvelian (Georgian) Studies. Eligible research may focus on the Americas, the Commonwealth of Nations (including British Overseas Territories, Crown Dependencies, and the Channel Islands), former territories of the British Empire, countries with significant English-speaking populations, as well as Germany (and its historical predecessors), Italy, the Vatican City, Iceland, Türkiye, and Hungary. A comprehensive list of countries covered by the institute's research is available here.

Our aim is to publish research that bridges theoretical divides across disciplines, offering a distinctive platform for rigorous analysis that advances societal progress and addresses global challenges. The journal’s scope spans the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, formal sciences, and applied sciences. BRAMS adopts an open, research-led approach and welcomes submissions from authors with strong scholarly credentials who present well-argued, original perspectives.

As part of our mission to raise research quality and showcase unique academic voices, BRAMS publishes high-calibre, peer-reviewed articles in English and also features selected contributions in Georgian—an ancient language with a continuous literary tradition and roughly five million speakers. To support this bilingual initiative, all articles include comprehensive abstracts to ensure accessibility to readers of both languages. We believe this approach promotes scholarly development in smaller nations with ambitious research agendas while preserving and nurturing their native language alongside English.
