Submission Guidelines
Authors must submit articles in MS Word format via email to bramsjournal@gmail.com. Please include "Article – author’s full name" in the subject line (e.g., Article – Sir Winston Churchill).
Postgraduate students should also submit a cover letter from their dissertation supervisor or a qualified specialist along with their article.
Submission Details
- Preferred format: MS Word; paper copies not accepted.
- Word count: 3,000–8,000.
- Language: Articles must be in English or Georgian, with a minimum 300-word abstract. Non-Georgian authors can request a Georgian translation of their abstract.
Manuscript Format
- Author(s) full name: first name (lowercase), middle name (lowercase or initial), last name (uppercase).
- ORCID ID (if applicable) [optional].
- Academic degree.
- Place of occupation, position, and institution [optional].
- Contact details (email, country).
- Main publications [optional].
- Fields of interest or achievements [optional].
- Article title.
- Keywords.
- Article body.
- References.
- Abstracts in English and Georgian (Including full name, academic degree, title in each language, and keywords).
For articles with multiple authors, include complete information for each co-author (items 1-7 and 12). Authors' personal information will be used solely for journal purposes and not shared without consent.
Footnotes are not accepted; use reference numbers and relevant pages for citations. Endnotes can be used before the References section.
Citation Format
The BRAMLS Journal follows MLA style. Here are the formats for different sources:
- Books: Author’s or editor’s last name, first name, middle name. Book title (italicised), edition (if not 1st). City, Country (State if in US): Publisher, year.
- Book Chapters: Author’s or editor’s last name, first name, middle name. “Chapter title,” in Book title (italicised), edition (if not 1st). City, Country (State if in US): Publisher, year, pages.
- E-books: Same as printed books, plus retrieval date and URL (optional).
- Manuals (Handbooks): Author’s or editor’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of Manual/Handbook (italicised), edition (if not 1st). Company, City, State (Abbrev.), Country, year, pages.
- Online Manuals (Handbooks): Author’s or editor’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of Manual/Handbook(italicised), year. Accessed: Date. [Online]. Available: URL.
- Articles: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of article. Title of Periodical (italicised), number, year, pages.
- Journal Articles: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of article. Title of Journal (italicised), volume, issue, pages, Month and year.
- Electronic Journal Articles: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of article. Title of Journal (italicised), volume, issue, pages, Month and year. DOI. Include URL and date of access, if no DOI.
- Conference Articles: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of article. In: Name of Conference(italicised), Location, year, pages.
- Thesis: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of thesis [MS thesis], Dept., Univ. City of Univ., Country, year. Retrieval date and URL (optional).
- Dissertation: Author’s last name, first name, middle name. Title of dissertation [PhD dissertation], Dept., Univ., City, Country, year. Retrieval date and URL (optional).
- Periodicals: Title of Newspaper or Periodical (italicised), number, year.
- Internet Sources (Web Pages): Include, if available: Author, organisation, authority, or company. Title of the Document or Page (italicised). Website title, or owner’s name, and the last update of the web page. Retrieval date and URL (optional).
- Software: Title of Software (italicised). (version or year). Publisher Name. Accessed: Date (when applicable). [Online]. Available: URL.
- Films: Title of Film (italicised) (Year). Directed by Director's Name, Production Company. URL (optional).
Authors are responsible for the accuracy of citations. Incomplete or incorrect references may delay publication.
Visual Content Guidelines
Submit figures, tables, charts, images, and illustrations in a format suitable for online and print reproduction, at a resolution of 300 dpi or higher (acceptable formats: .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, .TIF).
Image files should be separate, high-quality, and uncompressed, with precise filenames. Include markers in the manuscript where images should appear, along with captions in square brackets.
Photocopies or screenshots of all visual content can be inserted at the relevant points in the manuscript.
Supplementary Materials
Authors may submit supplementary audiovisual materials (e.g., podcasts, screencasts) to illustrate techniques or practices discussed in their articles. High-quality formats are required: audio (.MP3), video (.AVI, .MP4, or .MOV). For non-standard formats, consult the editorial office.
If individuals other than the authors are featured in any video, signed releases from those participants will be required before the videos are posted on the BRAMS website or uploaded to our YouTube channel.
Requirements and Rights
Submissions must be original, research-based, and minimal in citations, following the above guidelines. All submissions undergo an editorial review process and may be edited for academic style. Authors can withdraw their manuscript anytime before publication, without a refund, if editing has started.
If minor revisions are needed, the Editorial Board will allow resubmission. Authors should strive for high-quality submissions to avoid delays.
Checklist for Submission
Authors must confirm compliance with the following:
- Submission is original and not under consideration elsewhere.
- File is in MS Word or RTF format.
- Links to references included where possible.
- Text follows a single-column layout, 11-point font: Times New Roman for English, AcadNusx for Georgian, and Sylfaen for Georgian abstracts.
- Text meets stylistic and bibliographic requirements.
Authors will receive a decision notification within two weeks of submission.
