Today marks the 110th anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth.

"Ronald Reagan was one of the greatest presidents our nation has ever had and left an iconic legacy that continues to inspire. I’m pleased to proclaim today, Feb. 6, as Ronald Reagan Day in Florida in honor of The Gipper", Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said on Twitter. “The Gipper" refers to one of Reagan's political slogans “win one for The Gipper,” which was based on the former Hollywood actor's role as George Gipp in the movie “Knute Rockne, All American” (1940).

He is a vivid example of how a national icon of kindness and care can turn into a worldwide role model in times of global pandemic. This courageous man lived a long and meaningful life, serving his country and fellow countrymen till his last breath. And still, the British fundraising hero left us feeling how one lifetime is not enough for such an exceptional personality.

Obituary: Temur Tsiklauri

The Georgian singer and actor, Teimuraz (Temur) Tsiklauri died aged 75 after a battle with Covid.

Through his artistic profession, he served his country as a soldier, guarding the ancestral land and cultural heritage in his songs, roles, and public statements. However, Temur Tsiklauri will be forever remembered as a powerful but just Eagle King of all birds, the role he played in the Georgian musical "The Wedding of Jays" in the 1980s.

Obituary: Larry King

The legendary American broadcaster Larry King, 87, passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The journalist was hospitalised ten days earlier after testing positive for COVID-19 on 2 January 2021. According to his widow, Shawn King, the journalist had recovered from the virus while he died of sepsis as a complication of it.

The ceremony that marked the beginning of the four-year term of Joe Biden as president and Kamala Harris as vice president, was held on the West Front of the US Capitol in Washington, DC.
