While the global pandemic keeps ruining more businesses daily, the Wine Club sets New Wine Festival 2020 in an outspoken format. The organisers believe that the online event will support small wineries and large companies to survive the current challenges and problems caused by COVID-19.

First Grandchild

President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili becomes a grandmother for the first time. The baby girl who was born in a French clinic in Paris today, has been named Maryam. Both mother and daughter feel well. The happy grandmother will have to wait until the end of the current lockdown before she can leave for France to embrace the newborn and her thrilled parents. Meanwhile, the 5th president of Georgia shared her joy with her followers on Instagram: "Maryam Gugushvili (Gorjestani) is born".

Diego Armando Maradona, 60, died of a heart attack at his home in Tigre, an Argentinian town north of the city of Buenos Aires.

Maradona was nicknamed “El Dios” (Spanish for God) after his “Hand of God” goal during the quarter-final match against England in the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. Also, the same game saw him dribbling around five English players, ending his brilliant movement on the pitch with his amazing second goal, which is widely regarded as the best goal ever.

Obituary: PM of Bahrain

Khalifa bin Salman al-Khalifa, 84, passed away this morning at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

The saddening news was announced by the Bahraini royal palace on Twitter today. PM Sheikh al-Khalifa faced several health problems, including two heart attacks, since November 2015. He travelled to southeast Asia for medical appointments. In September 2019, he suffered from a stroke and was transferred to Germany for treatment until 20 March the following year. On 20 July 2020, the PM presided over the cabinet session the last time and left for the United States for further treatment on 15 August.
