He is a Georgian politician and physicist who served as a member of the Parliament of Georgia during the 3rd convocation from 1992 to 1995. He holds a Doctorate in Physics and Mathematics and lives in Tbilisi, Georgia.
He graduated from the Faculty of Physics at Tbilisi State University in 1978. From 1978 to 1992, he worked as a senior researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the Georgian Academy of Sciences. In 1992, he was a member of the State Council of Georgia. He served as the Chairman of the Chamber of Control of Georgia from 1992 to 2000 and was a member of the National Security Council of Georgia from 1997 to 2000. In 2002, he became a member of the Tbilisi City Council, and since 2000, he has been the Chairman of the Tbilisi Arbitration Chamber, serving as an arbitrator.
From 1989 to 1992, he headed the organization "DASS." He was a member of the Republican Party of Georgia from 1992 to 1996, co-chairman of the National Movement of Georgia from 2001 to 2002, and led the Liberal Party of Georgia from 2002 to 2006. Since 2006, he has been the Secretary General of the political union "National Forum" and a member of its political council.
In 2000, he was awarded the Order of Merit.
