He is a member of the Parliament of Georgia, serving in the 9th, 10th, and 11th convocations, and resides in Tbilisi, Georgia. Born on July 2, 1959, he graduated from the Georgian Agricultural Institute in 1986, majoring in agricultural mechanization. From 1987 to 1990, he was a vocalist for the Georgian State Vocal-Musical Folklore Ensemble. From 1990 to 1994, he served as the Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Foreign Economic Relations Association "Ikalto XXI" at the Georgian Academy of Sciences.
From 1996 to 1998, he worked as the Deputy Head of the Kvemo Kartli Customs Checkpoint “Sadakhlo” for the Georgian Customs Department. Between 1998 and 2000, he held various positions at the Georgian Customs "Red Bridge," including shift head, shift head of the inspection department, deputy head, and head.
In 1998, he was awarded the Georgian State Prize, and in 1999, he received the Order of Honor. In 2016, he was granted the title of Priest of Arts. From 2014 to 2015, he served as the Governor of the Vake District of Tbilisi City Hall, followed by a term as the Governor of the Imereti Region from 2015 to 2018.
