Obituary: DF Brewer

Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of Sussex, Douglas Forbes Brewer, aged 93, died peacefully at home on 16th July 2018. Devoted husband and father, valued colleague and dear friend will be missed by many.

Half of the BRAMS Institute staff members had the pleasure of knowing Professor Brewer in person, working with him and enjoying casual conversations about many other topics apart from science as he was a bright and intelligent person to talk to.

Call for submission

BRAMS Institute has an open call for submission to its academic journal BRAMS. The deadline is on 15 November 2018.

The international refereed and peer-reviewed journal BRAMS accepts scientific articles in any academic discipline (humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, formal sciences, and applied sciences), presuming that the area of research embraces British, American, and Georgian (Kartvelian) Studies in a broad comprehension.

US Independence Day

The 4th of July is the most significant national holiday in the United States that celebrates the Declaration of Independence, adopted in 1776.

NASA astronauts Jack Fischer and Peggy Whitson celebrated the Fourth of July from over 250 miles above Earth on the International Space Station. Fischer shared this photo on social media and said: “We sometimes have issues standing up straight, but we have no problems at all showing our American pride – Happy 4th!”

Child Institute Presentation
