On this day in 1901, the legend of animation, one and only Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois.

When he was four, his family moved to a farm in Marceline, a small town in Missouri, where Walt spent most of his childhood together with his parents Elias and Flora Disney, his three brothers: Herbert, Raymond, and Roy, and sister Ruth. He began to draw and paint during his early childhood while still in Marceline, copying the front-page cartoons of Ryan Walker from The Appeal to Reason newspaper.

Gela Charkviani, 82, a Georgian diplomat, writer, educator, and television presenter passed away today. Information was announced by his daughter, Theona Charkviani on Instagram.

Gela Charkviani was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, on 1 March 1939 in the family of Candide Charkviani, a leader of the Republic of Georgia in 1938-1952, and Tamar Jaoshvili, an ophthalmologist.

First president of Barbados

Dame Sandra Prunella Mason was elected the first president of Barbados in the 2021 Barbadian presidential election.

Currently serving as an incumbent governor-general of Barbados, she is going to replace Queen Elizabeth II as head of the country when she is sworn in on 30 November 2021. Sandra Mason was the only candidate for the office, jointly nominated by the prime minister, Mia Mottley, and the leader of the Opposition, Bishop Joseph Atherley.
