Workshop: JJ Ramsden

At the beginning of June 2019, Professor Jeremy Ramsden has visited Georgia again. Despite his usual busy schedule, our British colleague and old friend generously offered to conduct another workshop for BRAMS Institute.

Professor Ramsden introduced several new concepts on scientific freedom issues, spurring participants to investigate it further on their own. To encourage the Georgian scholars and boost their motivation, the British researcher demonstrated the practice of actual methods, giving examples from his personal work experience as an advisory board member at the UN.

American Studies in Georgia

Institute of American Studies at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Georgian Association for American Studies hosted the 20th International Annual Conference on American Studies from 23rd through 25th May.

In 2019 the conference marked the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing by American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

Traditionally, there were a number of sessions, chaired by Georgian professors.

The 3-day Conference has concluded with the certificate handover ceremony at the Institute of American Studies.

On 25 April the Levan Mikeladze Memorial Lecture course has been established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. The event was hosted at the Ministry, although the future lectures are going to be planned in different institutions throughout Georgia.

15 March 2019: The science advisory board of the Georgian Academy of Criminology Sciences held its third meeting on Friday. The president of the Academy, Professor Malkhaz Badzagua introduced the meeting agenda to the board members. Each question has been discussed and agreed on.
