Charity concert

Tonight the acclaimed Georgian-British musician performs a live charity concert to demonstrate her support to the Georgia Red Cross Society (GRCS) in its effort to support the socially vulnerable groups of people in Georgia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In her video message released two weeks ago, Katie Melua announced that she would sing songs requested by the followers on her social media accounts.

Spotlight on Georgia in US Foreign Policy

On 11 December 2019, American Studies Institute at Tbilisi State University welcomed Christina Pushaw, Director of the NGO New Leaders Initiative who served as a political consultant to the US Republican Party previously. She led a workshop in US Foreign Policy from Obama to Trump: Spotlight on Georgia.

The event was attended by professors and students from the American Studies Institute at Tbilisi State University, also, professors of American Studies from BRAMS Institute, and International Black Sea University.

Annual report

On 4 July 2019, the Independence Day of the United States of America, Professor Maia Nadareishvili arranged a meeting with the University administration staff members and professors to present a summary of her annual work as the Director of the American and British Studies Institute.

Working visit

On 10 June 2019, BRAMS Institute arranged an official meeting between Professor Jeremy Ramsden, the founding member of the Institute and staff member of the University of Buckingham, and the President of Grigol Robakidze University, Professor Mamuka Tavkhelidze. The staff members of BRAMS Institute, who are also founding members of the American and British Institute at GRUni, the Director of the American and British Studies Institute, Professor Maia Nadareishvili, Professor Diana Tkebuchava, and Professor Khatuna Kacharava attended the official meeting.

Workshop: JJ Ramsden

At the beginning of June 2019, Professor Jeremy Ramsden has visited Georgia again. Despite his usual busy schedule, our British colleague and old friend generously offered to conduct another workshop for BRAMS Institute.

Professor Ramsden introduced several new concepts on scientific freedom issues, spurring participants to investigate it further on their own. To encourage the Georgian scholars and boost their motivation, the British researcher demonstrated the practice of actual methods, giving examples from his personal work experience as an advisory board member at the UN.
