On 8 December, the Faculty of Social Sciences at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, in partnership with the Hungarian Embassy in Georgia, commemorated the 200th anniversary of Sándor Petőfi's birth.

The university hosted a four-part event in the student space to introduce Georgian students to the life and works of this remarkable Hungarian poet.

International Science Week 2023

From 13 to 17 November 2023, Sulkhan-Saba Orbelian University hosted the Second International Science Week. The event welcomed professors from France, the United States, Jordan, Poland, Bulgaria, and Ukraine.

The Science Week commenced on 13 November with an official opening ceremony. Father Akaki Chelidze, the university president, extended a warm welcome to all attendees. Professor Dimitri Gegenava, the university's vice-president, discussed ongoing initiatives and future aspirations for the institution.

From Communism to Democracy: Case of Poland

Dr Piotr Musiewicz, a Professor of Political Science at the Institute of Political and Administrative Sciences at Jesuit University Ignatianum in Krakow, led a round table discussion at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University on 14 November 2023. His visit to Georgia is part of the Erasmus+ staff mobility programme for teaching.

Professor Dr Tamar Kobuladze, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, organised and hosted the event, which attracted several faculty members from Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University.

From 10 to 12 November, the vibrant Tbilisi Book Days lit up Hall 11 of ExpoGeorgia!

Inspired by the words of the legendary Argentine short-story writer, essayist, poet, and translator Jorge Luis Borges, we at the BRAMS Institute wholeheartedly believe that Paradise resembles a magnificent library. As is our joyful tradition, many of our team members eagerly joined in the festivities, delighting in the opportunity to expand their personal collections with an abundance of new books!

Aneuli presentation

On 20 October, the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia hosted the launch of a new issue of Aneuli magazine. The literary magazine showcased the lyrical debut of Katie Davituri, a student at the BRAMS Institute, with editor Dr Tamar Shaishmelashvili presenting four of Katie's poems.
