Adire Queen - The Power of African Art

The life of Chief Nike Okundaye, the famous Nigerian artist and owner of the biggest art gallery in West Africa, is discussed by her biographer Kofo Adeleke.

Nike's own brand of philosophy and philanthropy has driven her life and helped to lift thousands of people out of poverty.

Kofo Adeleke is a development consultant with a focus on environmental sustainability and heritage conservation. She authored a Biography of Níkę – "Bàtà Mi á Dún Ko Ko Kà" that gives a deep insight into the African art, female artists, textile history, the use of indigo, and fashion.

On Tyranny

Deutsches Haus at New York University presented a conversation with the author Timothy Snyder and the author and illustrator Nora Krug about the graphic edition of Snyder’s book “On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century”, which was moderated by Stephen Naron.

The book by a Professor of History at Yale University and a permanent fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna who speaks five and reads ten European languages is published by Penguin Random House this October 2021.

The Department of Mathematics at Tbilisi State University presents the 2nd edition of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, by Roland Tkebuchava.

The former colleagues and friends will remember the late Professor Roland Tkebuchava, Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics, and recall his professional achievements and personal qualities. The work has been published first time over a decade ago but still remains one of the major coursebooks for Georgian students.

The life story of Erekle Tatishvili (1884-1946) is outlined in a new book by prolific biographer Professor Rostom Chkheidze.

“Thus Spoke Erekle Tatishvili” creates vivid portraits of translator, educator and politician Erekle Tatisvhili and philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, whose famous novel Thus Spoke Zarathustra: A Book for All and None (published between 1883 and 1891) became the major work of Mr Tatishvili who prepared the Georgian translation along the political repression carried out by the Soviet government.
