Today, Koba Tsakadze, the most decorated Georgian ski jumper, celebrates his 90th birthday.
When Pelé, the famous Brazilian footballer, was valued at 800 thousand USD as a sportsman, the Georgian ski jumper Koba Tsakadze was officially valued at 1 million USD. Tsakadze, dubbed the 'Flying Torpedo', was known for his unwavering principles and strong commitment to his homeland, never considering leaving for a wealthier Western country. Despite this, he frequently travelled worldwide, first as a sportsman and later as an international referee or guest of honour.
The BRAMS Institute wishes Mr Tsakadze many happy returns of the day!
