The Institute named

On 14 July 2018, Professor Maia Nadare, Founder and CEO of a new think tank, officially named her organisation the BRAMS Institute.

Recognising the numerous existing institutes focused on American Studies, she aimed to create a name that would be distinctive, concise, and memorable. The Institute will conduct both theoretical and empirical research in British, American, and Georgian (Kartvelian) studies. Therefore, Professor Nadare chose the name BRAMS, an abbreviation representing the three countries: BRitain, AMerica, and Sakartvelo (Georgia in Georgian). The think tank will engage ininterdisciplinary research related to these nations. Professor Jeremy J. Ramsden from the University of Buckingham expressed his support for Professor Nadare’s choice of name.

In 2020, the Institute plans to launch an international, peer-reviewed academic journal also titled BRAMS, focusing on both applied and theoretical issues.

The naming ceremony for the new think tank took place at Begeli restaurant on 14 July 2018, coinciding with the 157th anniversary of Vazha-Pshavela's birthday.
