This afternoon, Nino Akhalkatsi's solo exhibition "Value Is the Colour of Time" opened at Lominari Gallery, Tbilisi.
The immensely talented Georgian artist offers her bright world to the visitors in the space divided in two.
At the entrance, a solid deepness welcomes you in velvet tones and serious topics such as "Intrepid", "A homeless child", "The forgotten cello", "Secret world of a woman", "Mysterious", "Woman in red", "Thoughts in Moonlight", "Night fairy", "Goddess of Earth", "The first wave of love", "A Parisian woman", "Flamenco dancer", "Geisha's world", "Tiger gaze", "Joker's smile", and "The light of serenity".
Just one step from "The Brooklin Bridge", which clearly hints at the mental crossing, gets you into the second section of the gallery. Same topics or problems are solved much optimistically through a sky-blue background. All artistic ideas are warmed up by the sunlight – an undoubtful reference to Nino Akhalkatsi's sunny personality.
A wall of mirrors smoothly takes the gallery visitors to the colourful space where light glides through the rainbow created by the range of paintings. Such a playful effect seems totally natural, although it results from Nino Akhalkatshi's aesthetic approach towards the choice of the subtle pastel tones and gentler themes: "Dancing with the clouds", "The heavenly answer", "Dream castles", "Creature of the alien world", "Path to the light", "Silent scream", "A new stage", "Post-performance", and "Day fairy".
Lominari Gallery at 73 Barnovi Street will host Nino Akhalkatsi's current exhibition from 5 pm to 10 pm for the next four days, closing on 12 June 2022. Attendance at the event is free. The visitors are served tapas with soft drinks and dry white wine.
