On 31st January, Dolph Lundgren arrived in Tbilisi for a four-day visit. The Georgian Beer Company invited the renowned Swedish actor, producer, and director to star in a commercial for Ragnar, a beer set to launch in June. He also served as the guest of honour at the Tbilisi premiere of Creed II. Lundgren visited Georgia with his younger brother, Johan.
On 18th March of the previous year, the Georgian beverage company Zedazeni [https://flash.geobeer.ge/en] launched Ragnar, a Pilsner-type beer, into the local market. This Scandinavian brew began to attract attention from Georgian consumers during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. However, the beer market in a country celebrated for its wine and soft drinks demands constant innovation.
Dolph Lundgren is the perfect ambassador for this venture, not only because he is Swedish but also due to his immense popularity in Georgia. During his visit, he toured the Zedazeni Brewery, where he observed various stages of the brewing process and sampled the craft beer Ragnar alongside the staff.
Beyond his professional commitments, Lundgren seized the opportunity to explore Tbilisi and Mtskheta. In Kojori, just outside the capital, he took part in a traditional Georgian feast at the Bioli Medical Wellness Resort restaurant, where he enjoyed the rich sounds of Georgian polyphonic singing and indulged in the lavish local cuisine. Moreover, he made a guest appearance on The Vano’s Show, which will air on Rustavi 2 on Friday, 15th February.
Last autumn, JSC Georgian Beer Company Zedazeni released an advertisement for Royal Viking Beer across various local television channels, crafted under the direction of Nika Gordeziani and the art direction of Tevdore Gogoladze. On 1st February, Dolph Lundgren posted a photo alongside the cast of the Ragnar commercial on his official Facebook page.
The Hollywood action star is best known for his roles in films such as Rocky IV (1985), Universal Soldier (1992), Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2009), Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning (2012), Johnny Mnemonic (1995), and the Expendables series (2010-2014), as well as In the Name of the King: Two Worlds (2011), Ambushed (2013), 4Got10 (2015), Kindergarten Cop 2 (2016), Arrow (2016-2017), Black Water (2018), Aquaman (2018), and, of course, Creed II (2018).
