Most significant words in the English language have different British and American equivalents. However, when it comes to Christmas and New Year, both countries across the Atlantic tend to agree on the same terms. Amidst this, we have a unique and charming decoration called Chichilaki. This traditional Georgian festive tree symbolises the New Year, locally known as Kalanda, in one of the most beautiful and remarkable regions of the world: Guria, located in western Georgia.
